The route, implemented on Lugano's lakefront and through the streets of the city center, is aimed at Lugano residents and tourists. CardioWalk Ticino is designed to promote and stimulate those interested in healthy and proper exercise, an enjoyable and effective activity for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

The path

Indicated by special signage, it begins on the Lugano lakeside promenade, (Riva Caccia) at the height of Belvedere Gardens, a few meters from the LAC traffic circle and the cultural center's new parking garage.

From here, the trail runs the full length of the lakefront until it crosses the threshold of Ciani Park, following half of its perimeter on the lake side. It continues across the pedestrian bridge over the Cassarate River and turns right in the direction of the Sailing Club to the steps that mark the new shore at the Foce.

Reversing the direction of travel, the path goes up along the river until it reaches the intersection with Viale Carlo Cattaneo. Crossing the bridge, it re-enters Ciani Park near the gates of Lugano 1 High School and then runs along the second half of the perimeter of the Park, thus skirting the walls of the Cantonal Library, the pavement in front of Villa Ciani until the Lugano Casino.

Here begins the defatigue that through Via Canova, Piazza della Riforma and Via Nassa will lead the walkers to conclude the route in Piazza Luini, at the foot of the Scalinata degli Angeli.
