Meeting zone

The meeting zone, which includes Via Pretorio, Via Magatti, Via Albrizzi and Via della Posta, is a moderate traffic area where pedestrians have priority over vehicles.

Based on the principle of coexistence and mutual respect, vehicles are not forbidden to pass, but must stop and let pedestrians cross at all times, as all crosswalks have been removed. For this reason, the maximum speed is reduced to 20 km/h.

Extension of the pedestrian zone

The center of Lugano has extended its pedestrian zone to give more prominence to commercial and residential spaces and also to promote the passage of citizens to the meeting area, which has been made more pleasant and attractive by some architectural interventions made in the area.

Mobility on two wheels

Parking of vehicles in the meeting area is prohibited. Loading and unloading for authorized persons and the passage of public transportation, vendors and cab service remain guaranteed.

Two-wheelers remain welcome at all times: bicycles can be parked in the area behind the Lugano Centro public transportation stop.
