Archivio amministrativo
The Archivio amministrativo comunale (Municipal Archive) evaluates and determines the archival value of documents produced after 1946, ensuring the preservation of those with legal value or historical and/or cultural interest.
The documentary collections include:
- letters and minutes from City Council and City Parliament meetings
- dispatches from the City Council and reports from City Parliament Commissions
- employment records of personnel and competition specifications
- accounting records, account books, and invoices
- documents from the Ufficio Contribuzioni (Tax Office), Guardianship Authority, and legal cases of the City
- documents related to the controllo abitanti (Resident's registration office)
- various administrative acts
The Archivio amministrativo also manages the municipal archives integrated following the mergers of 2004, 2008, and 2013: it organizes and inventories the documentation, evaluates, together with the Archivio storico (Historical Archive), the need for restoration of ancient documents, and works to ensure their preservation. Overall, between the central headquarters and the decentralized locations across various districts, the Archivio amministrativo houses over 6,000 linear meters of documents.
Consultation
It is possible to consult records and documents stored at the Archivio amministrativo by appointment only, through a written request sent by mail or email to [email protected], specifying the subject and purpose of the research.
Access to the Archivio and consultation of the documentation are free of charge by appointment. A fee is charged for photocopies (refer to the Ordinanza municipale sulle tasse di cancelleria).
