Tasks and activities

Thanks to its team of specialized employees in various fields, the Divisione Eventi e congressi (Events and Congresses Division) manages all phases of organizing an event or congress, from conception to authorization and implementation. With an audience exceeding half a million people annually, it represents one of the leading organizations in event management in Ticino.

The Division also promotes Lugano as a destination for congresses and business events by organizing activities at the Palazzo dei Congressi and the Centro Esposizioni, as well as ensuring the management and maintenance of the City's public lakeside facilities.

For event setups, the Division relies on support from the staff of the non-profit organization Sotell (Servizi organizzazione tempo libero e lavoro - Leisure and Work Organization Services), which offers temporary employment to young people and students.

The Lugano Eventi brand, managed by the Divisione Eventi e congressi, is a web portal accompanied by a seasonal print publication, providing users and organizers with an overview of everything happening in Lugano. It also offers a platform for promoting events in the area. Schedules, news, services, and practical information form a guide to the City’s main events and facilities.
