Meeting of the Municipality with 18-years-olds
That recurring appointment between young people who have turned 18 and the City Council: an opportunity to get to know each other.
Every year, the City of Lugano celebrates young people who have turned 18. The traditional ceremony takes place in the presence of the Mayor and the City Councillors, who greet the eighteen-year-olds with a brief speech highlighting how reaching adulthood is a special moment in the life of every citizen, now an adult.
It is an occasion that allows the young people and the City Councillors to get to know each other a little more. Each time, there is also a guest who shares their testimony and talks about their dreams and hopes.
In addition to signing the book of honor in memory of the evening, the eighteen-year-olds receive a small gift and the publication Conoscere, conoscersi, which includes a collection of historical, geographical, political, and general information about Lugano, the Canton of Ticino, and Switzerland.
Edition 2024
