Accident Prevention

The City of Lugano is sensitive and attentive to the issue of accident prevention. SUVA-Swiss Institute for Accident Insurance and BFU-Swiss Council for Accident Prevention are the main reference bodies; in fact, they regularly promote prevention campaigns and strategies on various topics: from road traffic to sports and leisure, from housing to the workplace, from parks to water, and so on. Adequate information promotes greater awareness of hazards and related risks.

Charta of Safety

The City of Lugano has signed the Charta of Safety: an alliance of partners in the professional world in support of greater safety at work. The Charta was established by SUVA-Swiss Institute for Accident Insurance in collaboration with employer associations, planners and trade unions.

SUVA statistics show that the number of occupational accidents at the federal level has decreased over the past few years; however, it is important to continue working to reduce risks.

The Sicurezza e salute service of the City of Lugano, which is active in systematic and structured prevention, constantly strives, in collaboration with other municipal services, to ensure compliance with safety rules, with the aim of preserving the health of those who work for the City.
