The City of Lugano has always been committed to improving its activities and promoting transparency through an open and constant dialogue with citizens and various stakeholders. As part of the preparation of our second Sustainability Report (Rapporto di Sostenibilità in Italian), we invite you to participate in an important initiative: an analysis of the most relevant issues for the sustainable future of our city.

Sustainability Report 2023

The City of Lugano has presented its first Sustainability Report for the year 2023, which provides an accurate and transparent description of the sectoral policies and measures promoted by the City Council to guide the municipality's growth according to the principles of sustainable development. The report, prepared by the City, has been submitted to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the independent international organization that sets global standards for sustainability reporting. The GRI verified the accuracy of the data presented in the report and issued the "Content Index Service Mark" certificate.

Urban centers are the economic engine of the country and are increasingly taking on the role of innovation drivers, laboratories for the development of skills and strategies for the benefit of community well-being. Cities represent a valuable opportunity to advance the transition towards sustainable development models.
