The Municipal Plan, as formulated by the City Parliament in 2017, allows for the extension of Lugano's current bicycle network throughout the city.
The project has been positively received by representatives of associations specialized in slow mobility, including the Associazione Traffico e Ambiente della Svizzera italiana, ProVelo Ticino, TCS Luganese, and Ticino Cycling.
