Association of the Master Bread and Pastry Makers of Canton Ticino
This is an employer’s organization associating master bread and pastry makers from the Canton of Ticino and from the Mesolcina and Calanca Valleys.
The SMPP was founded in 1917 and is governed by a Statute and also by art. 60 and the articles that follow in the Swiss Civil Code. Its duration is unlimited. The SMPP is a division of the Swiss Association of master bread and pastry makers.
The SMPP’s aim is the union of all master bread and pastry makers from the Canton of Ticino and from the Mesolcina and Calanca Valleys to defend and increase their material and moral rights. In particular, the SMPP defends the general rights of members, vis à vis the Authorities, promotes training and vocational specialization and also takes care of the relationships with similar professional categories. The SMPP has created the collective trademark for safeguarding the quality of Ticinese hand –made panettone. The trademark has been registered at the federal institute of intellectual property and is protected by the federal law on trademark protection.
