Children's Library
Located on the fourth floor of the Sonvico parking garage, the Voglia di Libri library offers more than 3,500 books divided by age groups, ranging from books for the youngest readers to non-fiction volumes. The catalog also includes some books in German and French.
Opening days and hours
The library is open during the school term:
- Mon and Thu 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Loan
The registration fee of CHF 10.- per child is valid for the current school year and includes participation in the Notte del racconto.
Up to three books and one videocassette can be borrowed for a maximum duration of one month.
Activities
To encourage children to discover the joy of reading, the library organizes activities such as the Notte del racconto, story readings, author meet-and-greets, and reading sessions in the preschool and primary school classes in Sonvico.
Bookstart
The library has joined "Bookstart", a national project promoting reading aimed at children from a very early age and their families. Reading aloud to one’s children stimulates the ability to understand and think, providing significant benefits for the child’s development.
The library has therefore created a space where the most suitable readings for very young children can be selected.
